If I were to upgrade this current setup with a new 512 stick of ram and a new graphics card and a monitor, what can I get that’s good for cheap?

    Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz
512 mbs RAM (after upgrade it would be like 728)
    ProSavage DDR 32mb gfx card
    75 gig HD
Any other specs you need to know? That’s all I can think of...

My monitor totally sucks. It has like green lines going 1/5 of the left of my monitor and after it’s off for a little while, it will screw with the coloring and the positioning will be off... It takes a while to go back to normal.
I want something cheap here, don’t care if its CRT or LCD...

As for a gfx card, 128 is good, a really good 64 for cheap is ok I guess, I'm not a huge gamer and wouldn’t be able to do that much with this system anyway...

Right now, I need more ram to at least make templates without it freezing, I guess 512 for my system isnt enough...I don't really need any help with that. I'll just wait for a sale at Best Buy or Circuit City or somewhere else.

So a good monitor and GFX card please, both cheap too...I dont know the average pricing for either so just get what you can for cheap..

pricewatch.com for generics and slightly cheaper
newegg.com if you want reliability and slightly more expensive

    That's pretty standard.

To buy RAM you need to know which type your mobo needs.
Also you might wanna check if you have an AGP slot for the graphcis card but you probably do.

a deficit of ram normally just causes really slow performance. if you're making the templates in PS, you shouldn't be having a problem, I have 512MB and with PS, FF and image ready along with 4 IM programs I still have about 200 megs left. if anything, it would be your processor that causes freezing, celeron's aren't all powerfull they have almost no FSB. as for screen, system specs aren't too important for that, also thos e lines might be your GFX cards fault, not the monitors.
