First, check your systems date and time, if these aren't correct, AVG won't look for the proper update.

Next, check your Settings in the Control Center for the Update Manager. You don't want it to use a dialup connection or proxy unless it is an unusual wireless connection.

Many AVG update problems have been attributed to a corrupted Winsock/TCP-IP stack. While you may have what appears to be normal access to the internet and email, other functions may not be working properly. To fix these types of problems, download one of the utils mentioned below selecting the one for your Windows version.

and still working on the limewire thing

 

the lime wire thing delte limwire and re insatll im looking for another cause but that should fix it

well i downloaded winsockfix then once i done that i clicked fix and it rebooted but it still wont update.im actually thinking it might be a virus.

 

hmmm use norton anti and scan for a virsus and see what it says

if there is a virsus i can help u get it offf

 

well i did a scan with avg in safe mode and nothing came up and i also done an online scan with panda and it said i had nothing on my computer

 

so both problems still presist you can get updates and your limewire is acting weird ok ill get on it

whoops sorry for double posting <_<

 

i downloaded the avg updates of there website and i opened the with avg pro updater and it says that there is no current update so i am guessing i already have these files and avg is just showing this because there is something up or that i dont have the files and something isnt letting me update the database :blink: .

 

lmao quad post... well, im having trouble getting standby mode to activate... (its not in the shutdown options.) i have tried disableing everyhting and it still doesnt work X_X
