Run your ativirus in safe mode. Disconnect your internet connection. I agree try using another cd, that cd might be corrupt.
If all that they've posted doesnt' work, take it to a repair shop, that's how I fixed my PC, EXCEPT, I brought it back from the shop and it was like that AFTER my virus deletion or whatever, so yeah. gG shop
i had the same problem with brand of CD (duraband or w/e is b.s) and ya try having the computer read a different CD (first a music or game CD that you bought) and then try a CD that you burned urself (CD-R, CD-RW type) if the computer doesnt read anything, then you got a problem, if it only reads the game or music CDs and not the CD-R written on CDs and such, then you got something similar to a problem I had. I reloaded the drivers for my burner then and restarted my computer afterwards, it worked fine then. If your computer reads all of those, then your "allowance" I'll call it, to burn CDs and such has been changed. Example: at school admin usually locks the burners due to students downloading files and then burning them to CD, then the teacher or w/e would have to call admin to unlock the CD drive to allow burning and such. But for you a solution is this: Go to "My Computer" Right click on your CD-Burning Drive Go to properties Go to recording tab at the top right and then click "Enable CD recording on this Drive" Dunno how that would have locked or anything, but if nothing else works, I cannot help you and can only tell you to get a new burner.
