    a computer van?

    You mean a fan maybe?

Those things that spin to keep it cool in the computer..

yea I dont know much about this but I'd say just try cleaning out your computer..just when you are cleaning, use canned air if you can, or just be careful not to mess with anything..just remove the exess dust and be gentle if you touch any hardware..

you might want to clean the fans out as well, or get a new one, they wear out easily.

also check that all your fan's fins are intact. recently, a fin off my CPu fan

Yeah, the computer fans are pretty flimys. I'd just buy a new one, they aren't that expensive.

Make sure all your wires are in, and there isn't any dust in the computer/fan...

Well, Mine did that too, Windows XP, It was making that exact noise, I punched the front of it and it stopped... 5 Minutes later it starts so I just let it go and it stopped ^_^

My guess is its your powersupply. Do you have another psu lying around you could chuck in to test if its that?

Dust is #1 cause of dmg to fans.

You need to clean regularly to get the most life out of them. But then again they're really cheap anyways.

Of course it's the power supply. That's where one of the hardest to clean fan is. =P Basically all noise made by the "computer" is from fans.

Also, make sure no wires are in the way of your fans. That could be the reason for the noise. Zip ties work well with those messy wires.
