D0s Games On Windows Xp

    Okay.

    For the ultimate nostalgia experience, I thought Id download and play the original Quake, Doom, Duke Nukem 3d, and Wolfenstein.

    Im trying to insteall Quake, right? Well guess what.

    The install program wont run, and I keep getting this message:

    you cant play DOS games on XP, i forget why but i had the same problem.. have you tried pressing ignore?

    get DOSbox. Google it/

    :rolleyes: yep, dosbox can emulate dos, and will allow you to run old dos games

    its hard...i couldn't get it working right with Arena...

    Mori is right just make sure you get it from a good website.. my friend got one with a virus attached ( partly because he was being an idiot) ;)

    find an old computer with windows 98 and steal the hardrive out of it, toss it into your computer and boot up windows 98. don't worry about not having any drivers just ignore it. play the games. should work I mean i know you'd be playing on a downgraded OS because of a lack of drivers, but I assume newer computers have the sheer power to compensate for it.

    I have Quake running, except...

    ..it lags like a bitch. plz help.
