Saw his name in the poll at GameFAQs and I thought we should discuss him a little bit... Personally, I think he's a fruitcake. No, oh hell no, the parents shouldn't watch what their kids play and actually get involved with what they do. Hell ****ing no, that's Un American isn't it? How narrow minded and just flat out insane would you have to be to say that video games are as bad or worse then drugs? He stated that violent video games are as bad on society as drugs are... So what do you think? Is he right or just flat out crazy?
I couldn't be bothered to read that but i'll just say some violence is caused by the influence of games. It's true because since my baby brother played spiderman and hulk he's been really aggressive.

This person is an idiot. Even if video games did "train children for violence", how does using a mouse/keyboard or a controller help you aim and use a real gun or weapon?
This is true but only for little kids. Children under the age of 10 shouldnt play violent games, and you can understand the logic from that. They simply dont realize that its just a game and not real. But I dont think its a problem for a 15 year old to be killing about 500,000 people in a video game. Its not like the 15 year old would go and start killing people on the streets. He knows its wrong, ))
Jack Thompson is actually right on some things. Sure he is a prick, though he is right on one thing. Children should not be allowed to play violent video games. Seeing a kid under the age of 15 talking about playing GTA sickens me, knowing they are being exposed to things they should not.
He's just an attention grabbing nutjob. He's offering to give 10,000 to charity if someone makes his game. Why not just give 10,000 for the sake of helping other people?
That is REALLY stupid. Making a game usually costs millions - if a game making company really wanted to give money to charity, then they could just give more directly.

So Penny Arcade donated the $10000 for him in his name... so he tried to get them arrested. I outline it all in this forum thread nicely, I could repost but I'm too lazy and simpsons is on.
