Anyone know if we back to school monday or what?

This is really ----ing me over right now!

Only post if you know ANYTHING about what is going on right now in BC

 

I've been keeping up to date on it... I really dont know... why doesnt the stupid government except it and gets this over and done with?

 

It is pretty dumb, especially for those in grade 12 going after scholarships.If there are no teachers the oppourtunity for a scholarship will be gone before you know it. What really ticks me off is they are asking for 15% wage increaces because of the rising price of gas and rent. What they don't seem to realise is that everyone else in this province has to deal with the gas prices and most with rising rent prices but you don't see them demanding a 15% wage increase. The government won't make a deal until the teachers are back in school and the teachers wont go back to school until the government makes a deal. I guess thats why they brought in that moderator guy. But as far as I have heard I am highly doubtful if there will be any school on monday.

ya but the teachers have to be thinking about the children for christ sakes... I mean common, they are supposed to getting us ready for the real world, yet they cant handle it themselves...

I know you guys are out of school because of the teachers on strike, and no i am not from B.C my friends that live there, said they started going back to school yesterday, because they said the strike was over.

 

Well your friend is wrong because they have not reched an agreement yet. He could have just gone to the school though, they are still open but no classes are in session.

Yes, and my dad has not had a raise in over 5 years where he is working, but he is not complaining about it. He took the sensible path and is going to go work somewhere else where he can make more money.

i remeber when i was in grade6 in alberta we had a strike.....wow took over 2 months for us to get back in skool
