I hate ipods, but if you are going to get one, get the one with 30GB capacity.

Nanos are just too flimsy and shuffles are just wimpy.

Are you going to be exercise with your mp3 player?

Are you going to use it to store more than mp3's i.e. documents, photos, etc?

Are you bothered by a bulky thing in your pocket?

Since your gonna work out with your mp3 player I wouldn't get a 30 gig, nano, mini, or the shuffle. Although the shuffle would be the most practical of those choices, that doesn't mean its the only small flash-based mp3 player out there. Here are some links to find out about more options.

My Nano has barely any scratches, and if your gonna be workin' out with it get the Nano because it has the armband.

From those I would go the ipod 30 gig. Shuffle doesn't do it for me and all I've heard regarding the nano is bad things. Although where I live, it's better value to get something like a Creative Zen for half the price as the ipod.
