I read this great book about String Theories and Quantum Physics. The author is Dr. Brian Greene, a top String Theorist.

If you guys didn't already know, the String Theory, which is one of the main topics of the novel, states that all matter, including atoms, quarks and all the other building blocks on the universe are made of small vibrating strings. Every element or object has a different vibration than the other, creating specific a specific type of matter. I won't go into detail because honestly, I do not know all that much about it.

This book also talks about how time travel is possible and how it is impossible. It says that you are only to go to the past if that time period already had a time machine built which explains why we have had no visitors from the future during our time. It also says that if we are able to go the speed of light away from earth for any amount of time then turn around and come back, the travelers biological clocks would run slower than of those on earth, causing many more Earth years to pass than the Time Travelers would think. There is more info in the book however.

One of the many more topics included in this novel is alternate universes and the probablilty of them. If you are at all interested in this book and don't get confused easily, I dare you to read this because you can learn alot. I read this book when I was 13 and I understood it for the most part so many of you shouldn't have any problems.

The reason why I am posting this is because I was listening to him talk on the radio about the book and his upcoming speech at the Arizona Science Center, which is just south of where I live. Now, the speech he is giving at this same time is "The Fabric Of Cosmos" and should be very interesting although, I could not go because the tickets are $100 each and I am running low on cash. But if any of you go to this event elsewhere, please post here and brief me on it, I am very interested on this topic.

If anyone has read this book or knows anything about the above topics, please post and share your insights and knowledge. Thank you for reading this. *Faints after 10 minutes of typing*

Wow, that's really interesting. I might pick up that books. I've heard of Atring theory, and I'd love to learn more about it.

ive heard of the string theorym never really looked into it though, sounds interesting, but there are to many other theories out there that are just to viable,

i watched a vid on it last year.. in chem of all classes. isn't it also part of the string theory that you have like, a 1 in 1000 chance of actually walking through a wall?

I remember reading a book about Quantum Physics and time, at teh time it sounded pretty much the same as the Chaos Theory...

About walking throw the wall part. If you hit the same wall like every second, it will take you trillions of years for your atoms to align exactly with the walls so you pass right through it.

Yes! Chaos Theory! Well, I don't know much of this theory but the main part is that a small action like waving your hand can escalade into something greater like a hurricane, for example. There are many example but I don't know most of them.

ye sounds like a nice book, but i'm not to sure about some of the stuff that you have talked about.

heres a question for you, if your car could gop the spead of light, and you turn on your headlights, what happens? :P

Ok well one, you are not able to go to the speed of light. The only reason photons are able to are because they are one of the lightest substances in the Universe as far as we know. If we were try to go even near the speed of light, we would get really heavy and probably go even slower because of the momentum needed to thrust the weight. Second, if it were possible, why would have have a car go the speed of light and have headlights? And if all of that is true, when you turn on the headlights, nothing would happen because since you are going the speed of light, you wouldn't see any light. It would be pitch black and you couldn't see a think because everything you see is projected to your eyes by light. No light = No sight and No headlights.
