First to start us off here, I'm on dial up, so it's extremely slow as it is..

OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2

    Windows Update Filename: wuauclt.exe

This stupid things keeps trying to download updates. I removed it from the processes list and it kept coming back. I decided to let it download, and it shows me progress of the download in the system tray. 4 hours later after letting it go, it still says 0%, yet it slows my internet down so much it took me almost 10 minutes to get to this page. I even deleted the file temporarily to the recycle bin so I could do something, but it came back! It came out of the recycle bin and back.. How in the f---. Anyone got any information on how I can stop these downloads or something?

You do know there is a reason for the updates to be installed right? I wouldnt turn off the updates you machine could be vulnerable without them.

    Just my 2 centavos.

I only turn them off when it doesn't work, like in my first post. I waited hours and the % stayed at zero. :(
