    .9 repeating is infact equal to 1, when not rounded

    here,

    set x=.9 repeating


    Multiply both x and .9 repeating by 10 and you get


    10x=9.9 repeating

    subtract both sides by x and you get

    9x=9

    x=9/9

    x=1

    subtract both sides by x and you get

    9x=9


    Lies, you don't know the value of X and you subtracted 10 down to 9.

    Yep...also...1/3=0.3 rep. 2/3-0.6 rep. 1/3+2/3=3/3 or 1... .3rep+.6rep=.9rep

    that doesn't work. youre assuming that .999.... is equal to 1 when you subtract it. so it would be

    8.9(repeating)x=9
