    Alright, I am in grade 10 , and I am hoping, someone here, Has attented and Ivy League school.

    For those of you who dont know. These are Elite schools. Here are tthe IL schools:
    * Brown University
    * Columbia University
    * Cornell University
    * Dartmouth College
    * Harvard University
    * University of Pennsylvania
    * Princeton University
    * Yale University

    Now, out of those, I am thinking I may be attenting either Harvard, Yale, or Princeton. Last years stats state that 'Harvard' and 'Princeton' are tied for first in the world, overall. Now my marks are definetly compensating formy lack of professional sports. 100% ave so far.

    OK , but heres my problem, I am a bit confused, I know the entreis take grade 12 into consideration, for those americans. thats the last year of high school In Canada..,and in grade 12 we take diplomas.. and these tests determine the rest of my life.

    So answer me this:

    When do I take my SAT's?
    What shouuld my resume look like?
    What sport should I take up(only onesuggestion please)?
    Is it harder to graduate then to get there?

    Here are some of my stats.

    Math pure+honours.
    Compete at a professional level in 5 pin bowling.
    Age:14
    Est Graduation time:2.25 Semesters (out of 3)

    Eh I had some others in mine, can't seem to find them in my head right now.

    Uh, as a side note, your writing skills lead me to believe that you are NOT, in fact, a top-notch student.

    Either way, to answer your questions:

    As soon as you can and as often as you can. During your sophomore year I assume you can take the PSAT at least, if they won't let you take the actual SAT just yet. Find the info online or ask around your school; people in your school should know.

    In general, colleges don't expect resumes of you. You have a resume when you apply for jobs, not when you apply for college. Whatever the college wants to know about you will probably be asked in the college and scholarship applications themselves.

    Sports aren't a requirement for college admission, unless you want to attend college on a sports scholarship, in which case you'd have to be pretty damn good at the particular sport to play for your college's team, meaning that you probably can't just "take it up" at 10th grade and expect to be awesome by the time you graduate.

    What you SHOULD have, though, are plenty of extracurricular activities and stuff, and in this case sports do help. Get involved in student governments, school clubs, community service events, assemblies, etc. etc. I was denied entry into the National Honor Society because I had no extracurricular activities to show for, despite my fairly decent grades.

    Huh? Are you talking about graduating high school or college? College is pretty hard, believe it. I'm a senior in college--I should know.

    And just to let you know, Ivy League schools are considered Ivy League for a reason. Only the top of the top make it to those schools, and the schols are expensive as hell. Consequently, having excellent grades won't mean that you'll get any special treatment in those schools, since most of the people attending those schools ALSO have excellent grades. Having said that, expect little help in terms of scholarships and/or grants, especially if you're caucausian, so you better hope to god/buddha/whatever you believe in that your parents are wealthy enough to send you to an Ivy League school.

    Uh, it's the same thing. Whether you call it college or university doesn't mean anything in the scope of the information I gave you--everything still applies.

    well alot of good info you already included, but what about your gpa and class rank? theres no specefic gpa/rank that you need to get into a college but if you plan on going to a good school, they obviously have to be good.

    Listen,

    You take your SAT senior year (12th Grade)
    You take PSAT in 10th grade, and in 11th grade. (PSAT also benefit you by making you eligible to a scholarship.)

    And most definitely, it does not matter what extra curricular activities you decide to take action in, as long as you go to every meeting, practice, or any other form of event. (show you are dedicated). Another note, it does not matter if you take football or not, as someone stated it is watched upon more, that is just stereotypical accusations. Leadership and teamwork is what you should really focus on.

    If you want to get into the IVY league's, you either need legacy or astronomically high grades. In 10th grade, (like me), you should already be taking the highest classes possible. Heres my schedule, just to show you,

    My 10th grade schedule:
    1. Algebra 2
    2. AP World History
    3. Chemistry
    4. AP Biology
    5. Armenian Language
    6. Honors English
    (i have 7th, but its P.E doesnt really matter)
    Note, you should be taken AP classes as well, gives you a head start since these are considered college level classes.

    Ive also noticed on your schedule, you put only 2 hours of study time. That is barely enough. I spend AT LEAST 4 hours on my homework a day. And you should use your weekends effectively, dont design websites, make sigs, or play video games. Use the extra hours to either get caught up, or review your material again. (but make sure to take breaks on the weekends as well, you do not want to over stress yourself, really, it will make everything difficult.
