Ok, recently, my CPU fan died, and I bought a new one, today I recieved it, I took the old fan off, and took off the old heatsink. Of course from the glue stuff, the cpu came off with the heatsink, so i gently pried that off, got it back on the mobo, and applied the glue stuff to my new heatsink, fitted it on the CPU, fastened it down, plugged in the fan, turned on the computer. The fan ran fine, not like previously when my fan vibrated like hell...

Anyway, after that, it couldnt detect my hard and cd drives, so i re-connected everything, then BIOS found it.

Problem is, Windows wont boot... I see the little cursor blink in the upper left corner....

Am I forgetting to do something?

I checked and double checked my connections....

(I know most stuff about computers, I'm afraid I'm forgetting some step....)

I will ADD 20 CREDS to the person who fixes my problem, I want this fixed without a re-install if you can help it.

Double check the connections again in case any loose connectors not in properly - Go into BIOS check if all ur drives picked up perfectly

I remember this happened to me but cant actually remember - Try running in safe mode press F8 when BIOS starts - Ill research further into your problem - Some people said some files might have been corrupted but to find that out boot thru the CD or go into safe mode if it runs (but most of these problems referring to NTFS :D

Go here sounds like your problem :D

Well, F8 doesn't do a thing.... I did take out the RAM to put a cooler onto it, but I don't think that caused anything...

Im I would personally check the insides of the case - eg chck the memory in properly , the HD connectors in properly , the cooler on properly etc etc - Then you cud restart the PC and see what happens ..

its a difficult problem to solve PC are weird things and sometimes work and sometimes they dont without doing a thing

OR you can boot through CD hm.. :(

OK, this is getting freaky. if i take off my main HDD, it gives me that normal screen after Post, otherwise, the line blinks everlastingly... might be that my main HDD corrupted or had a virus or something.

It was fine last night when i turned it on with one of my case fans replacing the CPU fan...... What is this world coming to?

I have 2 hard drives and one dvd+r/rw Cd combo drive

I cannot get past Post without getting the blinking line when the master drive is n, I put it onto another computer, does the same thing. It's the drive that is bad, i cannot even read it anymore... no matter how hard I try...

I even put is as slave on my other computer, and that hard drive (master) got me to the Win XP screen, thats about it..... So something is meesed with it, yet I ran it just last night...

BEWARE OF THE GHOST VIRUSES!!!!! THEY GO OUT OF YOUR CABLE AND PENETRATE YOUR HARD DRIVE!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
