Ever since my reformat, my internet is going slow. it passes through a router to get online, and that router is where my other computer is, so im basicaly passing through it.
here is my problem: when i go to imageshack, or any uploading sites, it does NEVER finish loading. i cannot upload images, and pages take forever to open.

does anyone know of any settings i might be able to change to speed or allow things to pass? i think its partly something with a firewall... any help is appreciated.

i run windows xp and sympatico high speed internet. I forget what router, but i know it has d-link in the name. Im gona check with the router afterwards, but anything on firewalls can help alot!

    ty, garrett

Port forwarding has nothing to do with web browsing.

    Is your router wireless?
Does the slowness only affect some sites?
Did you power cycle your router?

I have exactly the same problem, I'm connected to a wireless network and only certain websites will load / let me upload. Imageshack won't let me upload, and yesterday it wouldn't let me post on GR. Aol is the only browser i can use that loads all the websites (Conspiracy). Microsoft.com doesn't work either (Another conspiracy  )

Well I'm not sure but try calling your ISP and ask them to walk you through bridging the router. The slowness might be from your router re-routing the internet connection an extra time which slows everything down.

if your ISP is RR (or a subsidiary) then it is unfixable.
