This is just a small guide on how the SOTW is ran/ official answers and such. When does the SOTW start/ or end? Sig of the Week tries to begin on Monday morning or afternoon. The entree thread is left often until saturday, and then closed for voting. Staff vote for it Saturday night, and all of sunday..and the votes are posted that night, or bright and early monday morning. How to run Sig of the Week: Here's a run down of the stuff you need to do, in order to run Sig of the Week. If i miss anything, please edit this post and include it 1. Figuring out the theme of this weeks SOTW: just check out the poll and see which theme has the most points and hasn't been done before. That is this weeks SOTW theme! 2. You need to post the Entree & Discussion threads. No we don't type that out everytime Copy and paste the coding from the last Entree Thread, and just change the wording out. In case of some bizarre accident, here is the basic coding for the Entree Thread & Discussion threads: (attached) Make sure to always change the following information: - the theme of this weeks SOTW - whos running it - who is DQ'd because of last weeks SOTW 3. Now the Sig of the Week is up and running, congrats Lets pretend 6 days have passed, and its now time to make the list for the Sig of the Week... Using the coding from Guinness70 found: here Open the attachment there on that thread, and your ready to begin. Enter the information for that weeks SOTW, and then whos doing it(your name there ) and your ready to begin. You will need at least two windows open: 1) the entree thread for that weeks SOTW 2) the sotw list coding compiler from G70 You have to go through the entree thread starting from the first post, and right click --> properties, and grab the link to each signature. If the entree is valid, you click "Add Entree", put in the persons name, and then paste the link to their signature. Follow the directions that pop up, their pretty good If the entree is a Disqualification, click Add Disqual, and follow the same procedure, except after entering the signatures link, you'll be required to type in a reason as why that signature is DQ'd. Take your time, and make sure you have a good hour to two hours in order to do the list correctly and fully. Its time consuming, but as moderators, this is what we do heh Obviously each SOTW entree must follow the rules, here is just a overview on the ones you need to watch for: Do they have 150 post? Is the signature attached? Is their FULL name on the signature? Excluding numbers and symbols, no abbreviations After your done going through the entire entree thread, click finish..and then follow the instructions. You'll need to copy and paste the coding it gives you into Wordpad or Notepad, and then save it as whatever.HTML. Post it in the staff section, and your good to go!
