Win98 Help

My pc is on an old os (Windows 98) and it is running kinda slow. Could somone tell me how to defragment it?

 

my computer-> right-click C:\ drive-> tools pane-> defrag.

Or, start->programs->accessories->system->defrag

 

And then wait 12 hours

well, if hes on a slow computer, XP will only ---- it up more.... you need at least 700mhz in order to run XP smoothly

 

I already have xp pro demonpants, just recalling the days when my other pc ran 98 se and come defrag time it took hours and hours .

Xp only takes about 20 minutes on my current machine.

 

20 minutes is a little fast dont you think? How small is your HD?

It would be quicker to copy your files, reformat and copy them back on.

If you just want to defrag I would reccomend downloading PerfectDisk 7.0 or O&O Defrag. They are probly the two highest defrag programs. Both better than windows.

He has windows 98, I click one of the links and its only for 2000, server and xp.

 

lol, 98, aah, *reminisces*...yea, defragging it might work, if not, then try just deleting crap you dont need, and if that fails you...build your own comp and get XP pro SP2
