Adaware is good. I use that and CCleaner(registry/file cleaner) and my PC hasent ever had any viruses, or at least any bigs ones that i have noticed.
And norton isnt bad, if adjusted right it can be pretty good actually.

Yea CCleaner is good also..I found that tweaknow reg cleaner Pro is very good for registry cleaning, but its only a trial.
Tuneup Utilities is an awesome program also..I reccomend that just for some customization, but its also a trial.

CCleaner doesn't have to do anything with spyware/adware or viruses. For an anti virus get Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal PRO or NOD32, I have Kasperskay. For anti-spyware and adware download these (all free).
    Lavasoft AdAware SE Personal
    Microsoft AntiSpyware
    Spybot Search and Destroy
Syware Blaster (for the enable all protection option)
    My firewall is Zone Alarm.

    How very wrong you are.
CCleaner actually cleans your registry and application files. Those are the main 2 things on a computer that get viruses. So actually CCleaner does one of the best jobs of cleaning up viruses, etc.
It cleans off your Web Browser info if you want, and doing so can help get rid of and prevent adware.

On the Cleaner tab click the bottom right button(Run) to run it.
On the Issues tab click the bottom left button(Scan for) to Scan.

I think thats what you were asking :)

I've used it for months and its helped me...

just make sure you check the right things..like if you want to keep your history then make sure its uncheckd for IE and FF...and then on a few it gives you a warning about somethings..those things are basically useless anyway so just leave them unchecked..
