Alright well I started shopping for this one thinking that I could use the AGP8x 6600gt I'm currently using, and after much shopping I think i finally found a setup that suits my needs.

    MOBO:
    SOLTEK SL-K8TPro-939
    Link

    Processor:
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz FSB
    Link

    RAM:
    Patriot 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
    Link

    HDD:
    Seagate Barracuda 160GB
    Link

    Case:
    I-STAR Nitro Ax S-10000B Black/ Silver Aluminium
    Link

All the normal drives as well

Ive never had a Athlon so im just trying to figure out if it will be sufficient to replace my current setup, which i upgraded from a dell stock B)
    2.8p4, 768mb singlechannel RAM, 40GB hdd, 6600gt 128mb

    Any thought appreciated

    :D no problem man :D :D

one thing u wanna see is the 12V ! where it says that ! look at how many A it has under the 12V if it's below 20 then it's not real good !

and the one i gave the link has dual rail ! one is 15 the other is 17

    15 + 17 = 32 :D

well after all this hard work, someone comes along with an offer thats hard to pass up.

    heres the pm

    AMD64 3400+
    160GB SATA HD
    1GB GeiL ram
    Radeon 9600 Pro
TV tuner/ Capture card (can record/let you play xbox on monitor)
    Dual Layer DVDRW
    Cooler Master Cavalier

Don't remember exact motherboard, but it has firewire, usb2, and gigabit lan. I'm willing to sell it for $600, which is a lot less than what I paid for the parts, not to mention building it and windows xp pro. I think I have media center lying around somewhere too, so I could be able to install that if you want.

i think ima go with this and upgrade later

I love how it's so much cheaper to build computers rather than buying one, i'm building one myself too.

    NOOOOOO dont get that.
IT has ZERO ZILTCH upgradeablity. IT is a 748 or whatever processor. AMD has discontinued them.

Stick with your original build and get a more reputable brand of motherboard. ECS, MSI, Gigabyte.

Get a better brand of RAM. Corsair.

Get a better PSU - An Epower Puma II

Hope that helps and I got to you in time before you bought the piece of junk.
