Acctually, I have some non-dell ram in it. My dad said we might get a new comp soon, I'm just looking for inexpensive ways to upgrade it a little...

ok well thats weird. Um yeah I would just save your pennies and get a brand new pc. When your parents get a new pc be sure to custom build and get an amd processor.

    Yup...
I'll prolly just convince him to get a comp with a (at least) 2.0 GhZ AMD processor, and 512+ Megs of ram, and 100+ gigs, because there is no way my dad will let me custom build...

And can I still pull off all the stuff like using PS, and firefox, and Dreamweaver and such on a laptop?

Even if your dad wont let himself or you custom build at least go to a local pc store and show them the specs you want and let them build it. It will still be cheaper than getting a branded piece of turd.

You can salvage your old comp by just reformatting it. Install Windows 2000 which doesn't eat up to much resources. I still have my P3 1.0GHZ with 768Mb of SDRAM. I use it for my dump (downloading server). Also it hosts my mp3s.

When I get my new comp, I'm going to bring my old one to my moms, and basically rebuild it piece by piece...

I'll neverbuy a dell. The only reason we got a dell, was because I didn't know the differece between computers back then. I'll definitly try to convince him to get the specs DeFuSioN gave me...

Edit-And my 128 megs of ram is in the first Ram slot, so I have to change that with meh 256 meg...
