Does anyone find it strange that India and Pakistan both were struck? The coincidence is that Inda and Pakistan were at eachothers' throats for around 40 years cause of a valley/city known as Jammu and Kashmir. Weird thing too, the quake suddenly hit right after peace was starting to show up.

Wow, I need to watch the news more..im just now coming across this post and thats the only reason I have heard anything about it since I never watch the news. My condolences to all those involved, a tradegy is always a sad moment in the world.

As for California being destroyed by an earthquake, what is actually going to happen, is that the lower region of California, Los Angeles, is slowly moving it ways north with every quake that happens. So eventually its going to just keep on moving upwards, not sure how far it will get, that all depends on the plate activity.

How is a naturally occuring event strange considering those countries are right next door to each other? Earthquakes devistate, but they really devistate the poorer nations. When a earthquake happens in a richer nation a few buildings go down and only a few lives are lost, we pay for it with money. When it happens to a poorer nation they pay for it in lives, I think it's really ----ed up that so many people had to die, but I guess that's life.

About the thing that American News doesn't report honestly, I found out about this event as it happend, from CNN News, and guess what, that's an American news company.

@.Defuzion: The death toll is not up to 30,000 yet, it is still rising and should reach that amount soon.

I was away during the weekends and I just found out about this,
it's sad remember the istanbul earthquake, 30.000 died approx.
this number of dead people would not have happened in the usa, or in holland or germany or uk, because they have stable house buildings.

Anyway, it's sad that the poorest always have to suffer the most :(
