What Size

What is a good size to make a wallpaper? I was thinking 1024x768 because that is my screen resolution but then I was thinking there is not enough room. Any good sizes?

for wallpaper i normaly use 800 by 600

 

I am making a wallpaper. And 800 x 600 is a small size. People with those crappy screen resolutions should get rid of them. They are a pest to society.

 

i use 1280*1024 and most people i know use that

 

The average wallpaper sizes,

800x600
1024x768
1152x864
1280x960
1280x1024
1400x1050
1600x1200

go onto your screen properties, and see what your screen resolution is, then make it that size, but not as high, a few pixels less.

 

If I make it that size can I minimize it to 1024x768?

Just say I make it 1600 x 1200 and I want to use it. Can I make is smaller with out losing quality and would it fit 1024x768?

 

Yeah, I'd say that 1024x768 is about average these days. My computer is a few years old and it's capable of running at that resolution without any problems. Also, at higher resolutions you shouldn't see TOO much of a drop in quality...
