Does your network/connection require some sort of proxy to connect?

Check through the Connection Settings in Firefox to make sure everything is OK.

He opens FireFox, it says that and then freezes is what im understanding.
You said you have uninstalled and installed 4 times. Have you tried just restarting the computer?

i had this same problem, apparently my little brother dled an xbl keygen which is a mask for a network virus onto my computer, i had to repeatedly clikc on firefox to get it to open, and if i only doubelclicked once, nothing...

so i would look through your processes and see if anything suspicious is running, then runa hijack this

Yes, because there are much more viruses for Safari(LOL Mac, so easy to own) and Opera. This sounds like one of the few viruses that affect you http connections(Either on port 80 or the http protocol itsself) without doing anything irreversable to you computer. Please post a hijack this report so we can help you analyze the problem better.

That doesnt help him at all..Its just giving your opinion on a browser..really pointless actually..you didnt even include reasons.

I'd just say start a new profile, make sure you export your bookmarks first.

you can also start one called Fresh and I think that starts it completely renewed. I forget the change exactly though.
