Anyway, I need to make a forum, but I have absolutely no idea where to start, so can someone please help me with it, it is meant to be a gaming forum. Just google Invision Free. It's almost like this one but it lacks some features. It's both free and fast, has cool skins and is hella easy to use. ^_^ But getting members is the annoying part.. <_<
Well first off u need to choose a forum, the best best is probally gonna be Invision Power Board (thats what this uses) Then your gonna need hosting tht has Cpanel Alos of sites offer free hosting with cpanel, your just going to need to find one. Then u must get your hands on IPB 1.3 (the only free version) This is going to be semi-hard because it is kinda hard to find. Next you need to Create a MySQL database in your Cpanel. Next open up your FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and create a folder named forums in the public_html folder. THen upload all the files located in the uplaod folder in your IPB 1.3 Folder. Then your gonna need to follow the instructions that came with the IPB 1.3. It should be easy from there. Good luck.
Is it possible to install a newer iPB without payig for it, like 2.0.4? Because alot of forums use 2.0.4. But the only thing is don;t know if its risky or not if you dont pay.
Well if IPB finds out they will just ask u to take it down thats about all that will happen, but if u refuse to take it down, then there will be lagal action.
get IPB 1.3.1, its free and safe to use. I can pm you a site that you can download it. I suggest you go to www.roxr.com for your host. They are great, and many different packages. There's a free package where you can put google ads on one page of your site, there's a package where you post 5 posts a week, and dont have to put ads, and one where you have to post 10 posts a week and get updates from the lower packages. With the eznom.net, does it actually make the forum for you, or do you have to make the forum first, then link or host it with eznom?
Well, I'm using SpreeB at the moment, since eznap.com takes 12 hours and I am not sure what happens. Can someone tell me how to install a new IPB, the current one by default is 1.3, and iI want to upgrade, appreciated if someone could explain how.
