welcome to my new grunge tutorial. you will cover the steps to make this... [IMG]

you will learn how to brush, add depth, and texture, lighting, filters, burn/dodge. all the basic tools that go into making a good sig. the only thing i dont cover is text.

    1. import your render onto a black background that is 350-120 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/1.jpg

    2. start brushing, i use metals stormy and abstract brushes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/2.jpg

    3. add two layers of brushing with alias' hard grunge brushes. the brushing should somewhat resemble mine. i know what your thinking, its really white but that will change. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/3.jpg

    4. add two layers of black brushing on overlay, your beginning to create depth. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/4.jpg

    5. make a new layer and grab the paintbucket, set it on pattern. find a rock pattern, fill it, then set the layer to hard light. now were getting a textured look. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/5.jpg

    6. make a new layer and go to image, apply image. make sure that this is under your render. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/6.jpg

    7. add two color balance layers and choose whatever colors you want. make sure to filter render clouds on these layers then add a brightness/contrast. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/7.jpg

    8. okay, two steps here. first we are going to blend the render. go to layer, add layer mask, reveal all. now select a grunge brush and make sure its black. start brushing on the sides of your render, this will blend him without doing a noobish feathering.

once you have done that, go to image, apply image. we are going to add a lightsource. with the lasso tool, make an outline around the render followed by select inverse (same thing you would do if you were feathering, but were not going to do that) once you have selected the area around your render, go to filter render lighting effects. mess with the settings, this is what i came up with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/8.jpg

    9. go to image apply image again and go to filter, artistic, smudge stick. add the settings and go to edit, fade, 50%. erase the smudge stick off the render so that it covers the area you desire. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka.../blending/9.jpg

    10. use the burn, dodge, and sponge tool. these will be the finishing touches. if your sig needs it, add another lightsource, levels or curves. add a border and text and you will be finished. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/bka...blending/10.jpg

Really good tutorial but the outcome looks messy. I'll probably try it with some other renders maybe.
