You say you can't update your virus/spyware database? It might be a new virus/spyware and you have to get the new definitions. If that is not possible in anyway than you have two options. Take it to a professional, might cost 20-60 bucks, or back up all your necissary files and reboot. I know you don't like hearing that but you must have seen it comming. Sorry there is not much that can be done.

Not much else you can do..

Unless you get someone to get the active X for an online scanner and send u the active X file but who knows if an online scanner is even good enough...

But you might just have to do that..back up the files and totally clear out your HD. Not much else I can think of..

Next time, make sure you have the following (or programs like them at least..)

    Spyware:
    SpywareBlaster 3.4
    Ad-aware SE Personal
    Spybot Search & Destroy

    Anti-Virus:
    Avast! Anti-virus
    Grisoft AVG Anti-virus

    Firewall:
    Zonelabs: ZoneAlarm

    Other cool tools:
    Crap Cleaner
    TuneUp Utilities
    DustBuster XP 2.8.2
    MRU-Blaster
    PerfectDisk 7.0

ok one site that i know of that you may wanna check out is Tom Coyote

basically just register with the site and post your hijackthis log, usually they get to the ones that have the problems first. Tell them everything u tried and stuff like that.

If that doesnt help then your best bet would be getting a computer professional to look at it

I wouldnt say Kaspersky, that's a virus in itself.

I would suggest in the future, get all the spyware stuff they said, and:

    AV- Avast and Nod32
    Firewall- Sygate
