1) First and most important... DISABLE System Restore, you can re-enable it after you are malware free. (Do this by right clicking 'my computer' then selecting properties, then go to system restore and turn it off.) 2) Setup and scan with Ad-Aware. Get AD-Aware Here 3) Setup and scan with Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3. Get Spybot Here. 4) Install and run CrapCleaner, it's a FREE tool to clean out temporary and junk files.Get Crap Cleaner. 5) Unless you are already using Kaspersky (i.e. if you are using Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro etc.) then please do a FREE online virus scan from Kaspersky Webscan. (This scan does NOT use Kaspersky's Extended Database option which finds most all malware it only uses their standard database)Get Scanned Here. 6) Download the FREE 30-day trial of SpySweeper update it and do a full system scan, it is not necessary to use the real-time protection.Get SpySweeper 10) Once you have properly cleaned your pc please install SpywareBlaster 3.4 to help prevent future infections. Get Spyware Blaster 11) Get Kiero Firewall. Get Kiero Here 12) Get AVG Virus Scanner. Get AVG Here 13) Get Avant Browser (awesome internet browser. Yes, better than Firefox.) Get AB (basic version) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Do you have Aurora? It's a tricky virus, It won't get removed just by doing the above. After you have installed all of the above programs, run them all. If you see somthing that says 'A Better Internet' then you have Aurora. It says it isn't spyware but it is. DO NOT USE THERE 'UNINSTALL OPTION'. It is another virus. Run SpySweeper and it will say it can not remove it. (make sure you have system restore off when you do the following or Aurora will regenerate.) click on the file and windows will tell you you cannot view these files (or somthing like that) view the files by clicking 'view files' and look for a program labeled 'Nail' delete it, it is the major part of Aurora. Go to control panel then 'add/remove' programs and remove everything you think is spyware/addware. Also, go to 'My Computer' then 'Program Files' and delete everything that sounds like spyware like 'Surfside Kick' or Spanish Casino. If you have any questions please post and I'll try my best to answer. I'd also like to add that my friend gave me these directions from a site he found and I edited them for ease and better use and added the Aurora removal section and Advant Browser section along with finding a link to all of the programs. AND IF YOU HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT, YOU SHOULD 'UPDATE' AND RUN ALL OF THE PROGRAMS DOWNLOADED. Credit me if you found it useful.
I find it more time effective to insert my windows dis and to do a clean reformat/install. I suggest that everyone buys a small second HD(or partitions their main HD) for backup purposes.
did u copy and paste ?? l0lz not gonna take the virus off on your HD not all of them can be take it off ....... trust me some potential virus on ur HD u are not gonna take it off ..... if u want to reformat ur HD and ur computer ...... that would take all the virus off in your computer ....but nice guide
Very nice, I'm sure it'll be useful for a lot of people. About the Avant Browser, I just downloaded it and tryed, I think it's horrible. It loads slower than Internet Explorer for me. Firefox is still the best.

Yeah, but still, you can never get rid of ALL viruses or spyware. it's utterly impossible. AV's can only get you definitions so quick. same with spyware. there's always more viruses/spyware out there than there are killers for 'em...
Its a adware/virus basiclly it calls it self Nailer.exe and its on ya pc from start up and spams ya with much pops as it cal u delete it using adware by the next time u boot up its back again and u try anti-virus it delete but has a backup and starts again lol basically on going battle to rid the bugga
The only way to remove all viruses and stuff clogging up your pc is to - format by making a boot disc and run "FDisk" and then use the formatter in your windows xp install aswell so you format twice.
