Anyone around here from north california? I moved here fairly recently and so far I'm not too impressed.

I used to live in Philadelphia, and the east coast is much better.

Anyone wanna try and convince me otherwise ???

I live in southern california. The north blows, it rains and well it rains. I live in orange county neer the beach so... umm move down south a bit.

also california rocks because we have a governator. He managed to cut expensises while still increasing education by 2 billion as compared to last year with grey davis.

I live in Citrus Heights(by Sacramento) and the weather is great here and you dont have to worry about hurricains, tornados, snowstorm or earthquakes and other stuff. And the traffic isnt to bad

just to keep norcal honor i guess.

everyone here is so trendy, and no one really knows anything about what's cool. most people get their style from MTV.

welfare junkies waste all of their money on 20s

people say 'hella'. some people even say 'hecka'

also, people here generally don't catch on to trends or styles until a year too late

    for example: uggz, rap songs

"Cool" is a silly word, its a word of opinion. Look, I hate MTV too, but everyone else loves the ----, so I put up with it because technically, its "cool."

Before you try to talk the talk, try to learn what the ---- you saying.

Honestly, I find cool to be ridiculous. People want to be "cool" and "fit in" - look - the happiest people are those that dont give a ---- - :D

ok you're right that cool is a little ambiguous.

but let me try to elaborate on what i mean.....

lots of people here judge you on totally superficial things.
the most obvious is your car. people are obsessed with wheels.

    umm... .what else....

Well when i say cool i'm also meaning in style... basically people here aren't.

they get their trends a year late. i already mentioned uggz. they were getting lame near the winter between 03-04 on the east coast. on the west coast people were whoring them 04-05.

When i first moved here people mentioned new songs on the radio and i couldn't help but noticing that they were long played out on the east coast months prior.

hell, when i first moved here, people asked me why i had holes in my jeans (abercrombie style)

now all girls and guys here wear jeans like that often and it's just another whored, late style over here.

I live in Socal as well. There's a fire that started here 2 days ago. It's pretty big too, a few of my buddies from school got evac'd. Anyhow, I've never been to Norcal, so I can't really know what's to do up there. ^_^

no, i'm from philadelphia. i've also lived in manhattan. my point is that people from norcal are sort of clueless hicks. hell i've talked to many people who have never even been to san francisco.

nothing here has any character. it's basically just developments, and corporate chains.

edit: mr. ownage what part of north texas? I used to live in Longview

i also forgot to mention the probably most annoying fact of all.

people in california are the worst drivers that I have ever encountered in my entire life.

I've lived in many different places.

Texas, philly, new york, california, i lived in europe for 3 months.

people from texas and europe are easily the best drivers.

philly and new york drive similar, very aggressive.

people from california can't drive. they stay in the left lane and do not pass. they drive slow, they're very unaggressive

    they can't merge either.

there is traffic here all the time because a road starts to slant downhill, so everyone hits their brakes and causes a chain reaction. i have to deal with it everyday, and it's awful.
