How can I use distributive property while I am shopping with coupons at stop and shop? The lady at the counter just told me that she will double my coupon savings if I purchase stuff worth $50. I have ten 0.25 coupons and three $1 coupons which I use to get $53 worth of stuff. Please use the above example to show use of distributive property. Anyone know the answer? Either it's that confusing or my teacher doesn't know what she wrote.
That question is confusing as hell, since I don't understand what the question is to begin with. <_< Are you talking about .25 coupons as in 25% off or 25 cents off? Are you trying to refute the lady at the counter, or figure out that what she said is true and explain how? Is she saying that you'll get a much bigger discount if you buy $50 worth of stuff as opposed to $53 or what? Are the $50/$53 worth of stuff before or after applying the coupon discounts?
I copy and pasted the email homework my teacher sent so I don't know much myself. I'm still stuck on it and I believe it is .25 cents
ok what? you confused me. I just dont understand this part of the question. "The lady at the counter just told me that she will double my coupon savings if I purchase stuff worth $50. I have ten 0.25 coupons and three $1 coupons which I use to get $53 worth of stuff."
If it's 25 cents, you'll always save $5.50, regardless of how you distribute the coupons, in which case the question is pretty pointless. But, if it were 25% off, then you could say that you'd obviously use those coupons on the more expensive items and you'd save more money... I guess if it's 25 cent coupons then you'd probably use the coupons to buy 10 items that are worth 25 cents and 3 items that are worth $1 each, therefore technically allowing you to buy more stuff, but I still don't quite understand the question. In case you didn't know, the distributive property is basically this: a(b+c) = ab+ac so I dunno. Work with that I guess. EDIT: Woah...I messed the distributive property up. It is now fixed though
lol i used to be a cashier at stop and shop, then i stocked the freezers. but i suck at math, you lost me real quick.
And here's an idea for you: Arrange your sigs one on top of the other, instead of beside each other, so that people don't have to scroll left and right all the time just to read one sentence.
