Ok, from what I read on the guildlines this is the right forum to ask this in... Alright, it took flipping forever, but I made this wallpaper, iPod Ad themed, of Anya from Season 6 "Once More With Feeling". I will have the usual 800 x 600 version that ppl like as well as a 1024 x 768 version. Now, as far as I know, ppl like these 2 sizes and what I have come to find is most common. But being that this is the first wallpaper that I basically have ever done, I wasn't sure on a few things. 800x600 Version: Now, first of all, I will show you what I basically have for the 800 x 600 version (I minimized the size of the picture so I could link it in here to show you, with out having it be huge. If you really need to see a bigger version, let me know...) 1st Version: 2nd Version: (I some how messed up on the size of this picture, opps, sorry!) for this, as you can see, the first is bigger then the second. Personally, I like the smaller version, I think it looks better. I mean, I invision someone having this squared on their computer...so I don't know. I was wondering what you all thought. If the bigger one was the way to go or the smaller one for the 800x600 URL's of screen shots of my desktop to show these displayed: version 1: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/myt.../Untitled-2.jpg version 2: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/myt.../Untitled-1.jpg 1024x768 Version: Here, is where I am really hung up on. I personally use this size. But one thing I want to know is, do people like wallpapers so that their start bar can be on and it doesn't cover up anything? For example, below I put 2 versions of the wallpaper. One has Anya positioned so that she would be above the start bar. The other version is just normal. I know I hate it when I get wallpapers and my start bar covers it up. But I don't like Haveing my start bar hidden... 1st Version: 2nd Verson: So what is your opinion. I obviously don't want to throw up 4 different versions of my wallpaper on my site. Just one of one size the other of the other. But I just wanted to see what you all thought to be more apporprate. In my opinion I would use the 2nd version of the 800x600 and the first version of the 1024x768 one. But I wanted to make sure that this was wise? Any suggestions? What do you think? Again, this is the first time I have even attempted a wallpaper. I don't know the different ways and formats that people would like. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to look at this
You are right, Its better not to have the start bar covering your wallpaper. so first version for both IMO wasnt too sure what ur question was here but I think I answered it...
lol sorry. Yeah, I wasnt sure if Anya looked ok above (for the start bar) or if it was better to go ahead and put her down. Because I use my start bar, but I guess some people don't. I wanted to make sure that, in havinf her above , so the startbar wouldn't overlap her, was the right way to go. I really didn't know what ppl perfered when it came to wallpapers. Should I also put who created it (obviously me) on the bottom as well, or just leave it blank. i know some ppl do that. Anyway, yes, you did answer. lol. And for the 800x600 one I basically was asking if it looked better blown up or not. I will see about making screencaps of what I am talking about. But thank you.
