leaving it on does put stress on the components, but not neerly so much as turning it off and on. There is a huge change in voltage and heat when turning it on and off as copared to when it is off. Tell your mother that leaving it in sleep(4W) mode will extend your comps life.
just turn of the monitor she wont know the difference lol , if u have to cover the power light or some shiet lol and she ask about the bill tell her she was wrong and its been off and she didnt save SHIET! AHAHAAH lol
I as worried this was gonna come up.. my computer is loud as heck, with 6 fans just to keep the components cool. She hears it running when she goes upstairs, and is worried about money, like she has more ---- to worry about...
if she is computer illiterate just tell here that your are hosting the bank information and if she turns off your computer she will loose all her money.

bagh the cost is nothing like that, shes exagerating. Honestly i dont see why you need to leave your pc on 24/7 cuz if yours is as old as mine is and makes funny yetti noises like mine, i bet it'll crash any day now You should just compare yourself to your dad and others to convince her. My mom constantly tells me to pick up crap that isnt even mine and pins it on me if the house is a mess, when i just point out that others like my dad do it to. He deserves to after working hard all day but the fact is he kicks off his shoes and leaves his crap wherever he feels like when he's in the door
sorry, my computer is fairly new, only a year old. It makes no sound except for the 6 fans in it. That's where she bitches off... If your computer is making Yeti sounds, I suggest you get a new hard drive, because it will corupt any day now...
