Alright, so this is almost the same build ownage time was considering with a few minor changes. Mainly a vid card that is supported by the mobo, and some different drives, and DVD burner.

If any of you would be kind enough to review these parts and let me
know if they see any immediate compatibilty issues I might have
missed, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you might have
seen a better deal... please say so. Thank you all for your time.

    Case:
Click the pic for more details. ;)

    Motherboard:
MSI K8N Neo4/SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD

    CPU:
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 E6 Processor

    RAM:
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400

Can only afford one set at the moment, but I plan on getting another
    in the near future.

    Video Card:
    AOpen GF6600GT-DV128 Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

    DVD Burner:
SAMSUNG Black IDE DVD Burner Model TS-H552U/BEBN BLK -OEM

    And finally hard drives:
I had to change Hard drives too, I just noticed the PSU only supports SATA and not ATA. Don't know if it matters, but to be safe I got these instead...

    HITACHI Deskstar 7K80 HDS728080PLA380 -0A30356 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

    &

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

    Other stuff:
Logitech Media Keyboard 967415-0403 Black PS/2

Logitech Optical Mouse 931145-0403 Black 3 Buttons 1x Wheel USB + PS/2 Optical Mouse

    Fujiplus FP-768 Silver-Black 17" 12ms LCD Monitor
    [IMG]

I've checked over all these components to the best of my current
ability and I think it should be a pretty good system. Like I said, if
anyone knows of any better deals, or issues I maight face.... please
    say so.

    Updated: as of this edit.

    Oh yah, total cost:
About $1020. after shipping and rebates are taken into consideration. :D

With the money I saved on the case and PSU combo, I bought a tool kit. Would hate to not have what I need. ;) And I could use the anti-static bracelet. Would also hate to fry my RAM or mobo in the install.

Thanks so much again for your time. :D

Thats good, you wont need to buy more cables. Only things I would suggest changing are the Aopen gfx card to a better gfx card making company aswell as the psu to something like an ePOWER Puma II.

How much of a price difference are we talking for those? Thanks for the advice. :D

    Edit*

The PSU you recommended is $10 more, 50 watts less, and has about the same capabilities. None that are essential. And the PSU I chose is from the same maker as the case. ;)

and i hope your buying two video cards to take advantage of that SLI, also that processor might bottleneck the rest of the system.

yeah i mean why not spend like 50 bucks more and get an AMD Athlon 3500+ X64 i mean what u got now is the same speed as a 3 ghz + i dont know if ur gonna do any gaming but if u are planning to do some gaming i would susgest getting a intel pentium or celeron get the one thats a prescot build those are ideal for gaming but then u would have to find a different mobo cuz intel procesors are on a different socket

also compare the case that u got to the ones on this website

amd 64 chips are way better for gaming, just couse its a higher clock speed doesnt mean its a better chip. amds usualy have higher bus speeds, especialy the 64s. plus its 64 bit instead of 32.

It will not bottleneck the system.

yeah i know amd 64 has high bus speeds but clock speed isnt all that matters during gaming plus if u look at the new intel pentium with ht technology that pawns as well and fits good into the 775 serie socket (altho 4nubis would have to get a different mobo)

    +

amd's cpu are built for lower tempatures that is why they are far better in multi taskin so if u play a game (and playin a game is by far the best way to really test ur comps speed compared to other crap) u might stress out ur amd the only option u have then is buying a bigger cpu fan

id say go intel for gaming

    i got this one

    Intel Pentium 4

for the record i blew out my amd 3500 X64

AMD blows Intel out of the water... Like glitch was saying it's the bus speeds that matter, not the operating frequency. The vid card should be fine considering it's not really for gaming... I plan on doing mostly 3d modelng with this machine.

As far as the X-Navigator case... this one is a little more to my liking even though I gotta buy a seperate PSU for it.

Again, I thank you all for your help. :D

SNAPPP venice core :D now u can OC like crazzyyy !! btw if u have more budget why not go with better vid cards? like let's say 6800 GT? and yes try to find good companies such as BFG, PNY, MSI :)

oo and btw ! AMD is better for gaming while Intel is good for like editing video, music etc etc ! that's my 2 cents

EDIT : gahh dont buy Aspire PSU.. i recommend XCLIO, Antec

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817189003

it is SLI ready and the 12V rail is 32 A ! the one u posted only has 16 A

    :)

    hope this helps yo

Get at least 1.4 GHZ if you plan on running CS2 on it. And if you plan on playing games...

I don't really have the budget to go for a top of the line vid card. At least for now. Besides, I don't really need it for gaming.

That psu looks to be a little better, but isn't quite enough overall wattage, I need the other 50 watts, and the cabling on the aspire psu better fits the rest of the system.

I had to change Hard drives too, I just noticed the PSU only supports SATA and not ATA. Don't know if it matters, but to be safe I got these instead...

Heh, and what would you suggest?

Please keep it compatible with the rest of the things I have going there. :D

and as far as the cords for the drives, dvd burners and such. These ones that come with the mobo, right? They just look somewhat different than the AT cords my friend used a while back when building his machine.
