I currently have a dell dimension 4800, i have absolutely no idea how to build a computer and when i bought this comp it fit my needs for what i did

but i was wondering if i could take the parts i have in my dell and put them all in a custom case, im upgrading the system with a new graphics card, more ram, and a better hardrive

any comments or suggestions would be helpful and greatly appreciated

o btw my budget is a lot so im open to all ideas

well no because dell probably uses a different motherboard type. like most cases are the standard ATX. what you could do is swap out everything accept the motherboard into a new case, i would aslo suggest a new psu. but what you should do is buy a whole new cpu/mobo and recycle the hard drives, optical drives, ram, vidcard/soundcard, nic cards etc. hope that helped....

ya if u have enuf money do what glitch said

just get a nice motherboard with a fast processor (stay away wfrom celeron i personally hate them)

    and upgrade everything

for the graphics card set it up so that u can run a duel card system. Those are the best.

but u will need at least a gig of ram (not for the cards just to run everything else)

You cant jsut upgrade the harddrive, gfx card and RAM if its in a dell? or is it u want to do it all over?

btw if you plan on gettin a gig of ram dont get one stick thats a gig, 2 512mb sticks run better.
