Yup yup.....survived that damn hurricane.........................................although it didn't really hit houston. Anyways, evacuating sucked. Gas stations ran out of gas.....water was harder to get, as well as food :(

Houston to Austin on a regular day- 4 to 5 hours
Houston to Austin during a hurricane- 12-14 (and thats we were lucky, it took others like 18 hours to get somewhere it would of took 1 hour and a half.)

    HERE's THE FUN PART!!
I was classified as a Refugee for 2 days or so! It sucked!! Sleeping in a school gym next to people that fart, snore, and STINK the whole damn time!!! Ohh and you have to be very quiet, people are reeaallyy stuck up about their sleep.

This is not a pointless thread, I want to let people know how ----ed up it was during the CANE! :censored:

I too was in the hurricane. I was kind of physced for it. Because I was just staying at my house (2 story full brick) so Im pretty safe except for tornadoes. Cause last year a tornado hit my roof and we had to get a new one... Well just off the coast of Galvestiont he thing dropped 2 categorys, and veered off to the extreme southeast Texas and southwest Lousiana. Im so glad I didn't evacuate. It took 5 hours to get from Galveston to Houston. Still most gas stations are empty, restaurants closed, and most businesses. I think they hopefully start up again Monday.

By the way I live in Katy (west houston, close to I-10 and Barker Cypress)

Yep. Personally I think most of the fear was from Katrina. People were spooked.

I didn't evacuate. I stayed at my house and we lost cable for a day, besides that everything was fine.
