PC gaming is nowhere near dead... your stupid for saying that,

Take 5 minutes to google around. If I had to pull a statistic out of my ass like you did below, I'd probably say that you share the same opinion with 1/100 people about PC vs Console.

xbox is for casual gaming mainly except for fighting games, It's barely used for FPS.

    (biggest competitive play)

    xbox is

    Fighting
    Racing
    Call of duty

Lol. Competitive play on a console is where it's at, sorry to tell you. MLG's Pro Circuit and their National Championships are dominated by console game tournaments. The only PC game they have is like WoW and they just added Starcraft 2. Not to mention the fact that Halo 3 is one of the most competitive games on the planet and it's only the Xbox 360.

    PC gaming
    World of Warcraft
    Counter-Strike 1.6
Counter-Strike Source (horrible game but stupid people still play it)
    Call of duty
(and a couple other FPS games)
    Starcraft

    Yeah.. sounds like fun :zz:

PC gaming is nowhere near dead. If anything xbox + ps3 + wii is dead compared to the amount of gameplay on a PC.

starcraft alone brings over 500,000,000 gamers onto the PC.

Way to pull a statistic out of your ass. Starcraft maybe has 20,000 players online spread throughout a day. And that's probably a peak number. If anything that number you just stated is overall through it's lifespan. If any game lasted over 9 years it would easily have that number. I believe you think you believe the PC pulls in more gamers, but honestly even if it did, that number wouldn't mean anything. PC gaming is easy to pirate and modify.

all u need is a 1g video card high numbered nvidia and ur good for the next 5 years, tech gets better but you can still play fine with minimal even if you wanna play professional.

Don't worry. If you're still stuck playing Crysis on the worst settings with no AA, Crysis 2 is coming to the 360 and PS3. :)

    4-6g off ddr3 ram

Just checked the prices on google and that alone would cost you half of new 250GB Xbox 360 Elite.

250g hard drive (dont even really need that)

    Good idea.

cost of upgrading an old, otherwise usable computer in 2006: $500
    cost of xbox 360 in 2006: $400

cost of online subscription services the last 4 years: $240
cost of one graphics card upgrade in the last 4 years: $110 - $70 for selling the old card ($40 overall)

    cost of 10 xbox 360 games: $600
cost of 10 PC games: $500

explain to me how PC gaming is more expensive.

that said, Blinkz, what computer do you have now? neither of those two systems you linked to are all that great, I bet I could get your current system up to spec for around 200 pounds or less(assuming it's halfway modern)

Completely wrong... considering MLG isn't even that big.... it's not tiny but its mainly for console users only I'd laugh at anyone that plays PC games at MLG... not just laugh but make fun of them for the rest of there lives..
I mean unless you play WoW which i'll laugh at you for anyways.

The last tournament err league I would use in a fight with gaming is MLG ...

    2nd

those are all american gaming tournments and leagues, and you forgot to add ESEA CPL WCG.. list goes on for days. PC gaming started competitive play a long time ago.. and they stay consistant at any tournement that you go too while console profession games change almost every time a new game comes out. Though more games of xbox are played at those tournaments those are usually 1v1 games sides MW2 which is played more competitively on the PC not on XBOX 360.

America is the worst example for gaming considering we don't support it like other countries do.

and that 20,000 number is base on USA players not world wide... starcraft in china is beyond huge there same with there gaming base including CS1.6.

if you wanna base gaming off of america even you can just say right there gaming is dead ever since WSVG brought Source over 1.6 and then went down. Gamings kind of been fucked since.

    3rd

yeah it's mostly COMPETITIVE IN FIGHTING GAMES already said that... and halo barely gets played competitively anymore.

also MW2 has more competitive demos and play on PC than MW2 on xbox unless you play on MLG like a sped...

    4th

I stopped reading your comment after like the first statement.

    5th

don't even waste time responding, you WILL NOT win this fight...

2nd - You have no idea what you're talking about.

3rd - There is no MLG PC for MW2 on the xbox. Halo barely get's played competitively anymore cause Halo 3 is a bit outdated and it's multiplayer has always been flawed.

4th - I stopped reading your comment after I realized you spelled tournament in two different ways.

    5th - You're just plain wrong. Sorry.

Fact of the matter is that you're only mentioning US tournaments and smaller, newer companies at that. There are numerous gaming associations in Asia which are *fully* sponsored players, like athletes. They game on a set schedule, they have breaks and lunches planned out, they eat to increase neural activity, they have dexterity training, and the list goes on (this is largely the Koreans). Computer gaming is represented at every tournament.

With that being said, it is stupid to base a console's life and/or death on the basis of how well represented it is at tournaments. Games are designed for different reasons, not every game, and not every console, are designed for professional gaming. Guild Wars is still a very large game in terms of professional play, but how often do you hear of it in the US? Not at all. Aion is *huge* for Koreans. FF XI is *huge* for Koreans (another reason why FF XIV is built the way it is for those of us in beta is because it's intended for console gaming because it's the predominant system over there), but rarely heard of in the US. There are literally hundreds of titles used in professional gaming tournaments with *far* larger pay outs than MLG, ESL, Kespa, etc. regulated tournaments.

The US does not represent the world in the grand scheme of gaming. It's hardly a blip for most designers compared to Europe and Asia.

few things. WHAT IS IT EXACTLY? what are the names of the parts?

you do know that GHz doesn't mean power, right?

    a 3.33 GHz core i7 980(from 2010) will DECIMATE a 3.7GHz pentium 4(from 2004) as it can be up to 10 times as powerful.

that said, you usually don't need to OMGWTF computer to game. my mother's CPU board and RAM(Athlon II x3, 2GB RAM) altogether cost around $110 and if I installed a $90 graphics card in there, it would be competent at gaming. Admitedly I reused the case and DVD drive and donated an old harddrive and power supply.
