I have 2, one for work and one was a gift.

For work, it's great to test apps on...I use my computer for email/web though.

I tried netflix on my personal one... my hand got tired of holding the damn thing...so I flipped on the xbox and watched the rest on TV.

Haven't really found a use for either of them... I hear they sell like crack on eBay though.

    Top Reasons to get one:
    You don't have a laptop
You have some money to toss at a new toy

    Top Reasons not to:
No flash support (most web pages don't load properly... and flash games would have been AWESOME on here)

You have a laptop (i've found anything the iPad does, my laptop does it better. iPad even got 1uped as a frisbee by my Macbook Air.)

Price (a touch screen net-book isn't worth the bucks)

Tech is behind the curve (with both windows tablets and Android being released soon, it's expected that both will have more features and better support than the iPad)

It's NOT a FUCKING TABLET. (it's a net-book with no keyboard) iPad<Net-Book... A tablet is a design tool...which usually includes a stylus (also missing from the iPad)

get a lap top :/ more duribale less fustrating. Though the ipad is pretty cool cuz its a giant touch screen tablet i cant help but look at it as a big ipod touch :\. And exactly what clash said; it sucks because some pages dont load right. and if u drop the ipad ur f***ed. Though dropping a laptop cant be good either.:omg:

Because history tells us that Apple products are only good until Microsoft release their version, a la Zune. amirite, guize?

Well there's that... but they constantly put their own products in the stone age by releasing updated versions every 6 months.

I got one of the uni-body crap-book pros the day it came out... 6 months later the new version has an SD card reader, a month later they were coming pre-installed with snow leopard, then they were coming with free iPods and a lap dance... Also, the first ones came with optical HDDs. That lasted about a month until they started putting SSDs in them.

So ya... they put themselves behind the curve... and all you people who bought an Apple TV in the past 6 months... SUCKS FOR YOU... no iOS 4 and no netflix.

That's a self contradictory statement. You say they put themselves behind the curve by bringing out regular line refreshes packed with new features and technology.

So your bashing Apple for coming out with new things, updating their OS, and using it on all their new computers? At Least the OS' work well, and don't go to shit, like ehh windows vista, windows 7 wasn't a free upgrade either...not at all.

Plus i respect that apple puts out simply one flavor, and snow leopard was 30 dollars flat, while windows 7 upgrade is 120 USD for the smallest edition, ultimate costing you a 100 USD on top of that. You could upgrade 7 Macs with snow leopard and buy a SD reader for that price.

But i do have to agree about the ipad, it's an big ipod touch, not really comparable to a laptop with a processor(s) easily beating the 1 GHz chip in the ipad.

Clash almost every electronic now a days is obsolete within 6 months after its released ; stop being a biased bitch against apple, and open your eyes.

How can you compare windows Vista - Windows 7 to Leopard - Snow Leopard?

Snow Leopard was a service pack AT MOST. Which Windows downloads for free. And I UPDATE my desktop annually... I don't trash it and buy a new one.

However when it comes to Tablets, I see similar issues down the line with upgrades no matter the manufacturer. Giant touch devices are going to be a short lived fad.

I am however looking forward to the Chrome Store. That's going to open the door to a lot of possibilities for cross platform programs in the way Java or Flash has already.

i'd say no.. but I have an iphone so the itouch and ipads are basically the same thing

just the ipad has a bigger screen, it's processor last i knew wasn't that much better, and it didn't have a lot of space.

Haven't looked at it since it came out because it was just completely stupid.

TBH if i just wanted a device to check emails, browse the internet and watch videos etc, i'd take an iPad over a netbook every time.

I'd agree with that, only because touch is more user friendly, and you don't have to have an ipad in a normal position it's easier to move around and be comfortable.

Just apple needs to upgrade the ram n processor & the amount of space

Why not use a mobile device?

And the big question...where are you that you need access to your emails, web, and videos that you don't have access to a computer?

Can't remember the last time I needed to watch a movie at the beach or check my email while I take a dump...
