that's a direct quote from an Xbox tech support rep^

don't ask for a source. we may see a prototype at E3, but i doubt it. i dont care if you guys believe me or not, im pretty much just making this thread to prove i know something everybody would be skeptical about

I don't care about a slim version, it's fine right now. I'd rather develop in something more usefull like a blu ray just like sony has.

I got a PS3 and was looking into buying an Xbox so i could get the best of both worlds.. so maybe not too late for some. A friend of mine was too. Hopefully they do get the overheating fixed!

I guess it would be an attempt to boost sales. Atm the PS3 is by far the superior console, and keeping consoles walking out the door is the only way to keep game sales up.

It has taken Microsoft 4 years and it still cant fix the issue with the overheating so making it smaller is gonna do what. Needs a huge design overhaul or change or something. I have gone through 4 360's and I will not be buying another one.

I've had a 360 since release and never got a RROD or noticed any significant overheating. Try not putting your system vents on the carpet or shoved between the folds of fat on your body and give it some room to breathe, works fine.

I'd rather they up the clock speed of the xbox 360 and got a quieter optical drive.

Not really, Wii is the best selling one. And the PS3 doesn't sell much better than the xbox 360. Could be differences between countries but I don't think it will differ much.

And as dementia said, I haven't noticed anything overheating about my xbox, or not even nearly overheating. And yes, it does make some noise, but that is compensated by the louder sound of the tv.

we're not talking about a portable Xbox, we're talking about a slimmer Xbox 360 console.

I never really got the appeal of just making it slimmer anyway, but if my xbox were to break again and it does actually solve the overheating issues I could be interested
