All of the built-in apps on iPad were designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen and advanced capabilities of iPad. And they work in any orientation. So you can do things with these apps that you can’t do on any other device. http://www.apple.com/ipad/ Any1 planning on getting it?
Looks nice as reading platform and low level app stuff. But I heard the guys over at apple paint this as the new future of gaming and stuff. But with their current processor of only 1GHz, I think they should kick it up a notch before that will happen. So for the current things it can do, it's still a bit expensive for me. Also the fact that it's new, never really appeals to me. I rather wait a few months/years untill things are a bit more stable.
Yeah i would rather wait a bit longer, maybe a few upgrades like a different processor or better features.
I mean it will be cool to watch movies on, read books, play GIANT bejewled... It will also make a great doorstop, paperweight, and clipboard without clip!
Way too much money for something with very little power and memory. Maybe when they get some more bells and whistles in a year or two.
Well, if that OnLive gaming thing ever takes off ( as I have been lead to believe it will ), this thing will be amazing, and good value.
if they port games to it (not likely till faster processor) then it'll be a party, till then its a flop
Based on the live demonstration video I saw a few months back, for the full HD resolution settings you'll only need a 3mb connection. If you use standard definition resolutions it'll be lower. However latency has proven to be the main issue. They say that they'll be able to keep the latency below 80ms ( anything lower than 80ms isn't noticeable to the eye ) within 1000 miles of their servers. From what I gather they've had a few hiccups, but once they sort it out everythings ready to go. If they bought it to NZ it'd be kewl, since the entire country could fall into the 1000 mile radius of their servers. Since OnLive can be played on pretty much anything capable of running a movie, the iPad would be an awesome option for gaming.
OnLive is going to have one of their server farms in Atlanta, GA about 3 miles from my condo. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
