I have several really good online friends, and i recently learned properly that real friends can be cmplete backstabbing assholes. I voted real life purely for the fact that they have meant for to me in the past, although i talk to my online friends daily.

real friends can not be backstabbers, if they were they were never friends in the first place.

    Depends.

Online friends tend to stick around longer, I'm hitting the end of High School tomorrow, so going to lose half my friends at least as we move on to different colleges...

But that won't affect online friends at all.

Then again, you can't have nearly as good and real a friendship online.

Wow..cant believe this is even a topic..

Real life fo sho..For one all of my friends hang out after school, skate, play basketball, go to movies, shiz like that..online friends we don't do anything but talk and make sigs..so interactive and exciting huh..Also I don't see how an internet friend is any better than real, for one if you both sit online all day talking to each other, you both need to step outside and experience fun and a thing called life. Your internet friend becomes nothing as soon as one of you loses your internet, you keep your real life friends. Your real life friends are there for you, your internet friends just tell you they are. Real life friends have stories you can all talk about because you were there or know them, online friends can be any ------ that makes stuff up or isnt who they say they are. Last but not least, you have more of a personal attachment to a real life friend, you can call each other names, push each other, trash talk when playing games/sports, online you just say stuff like *push* or something like that and keep hearing lol which since about 2 years ago totally lost its meaning. I have lots of friends, boys and girls, in real life, I know I'm luckier than some people I've seen, and I would never give up time with them having fun so I can sit at this comp and talk to people I don't know.

I think the reason most people don't lose online friends is because online friends will try to say anything to make you feel better, and you cant have them around with the normal problems you have with your friends. Your real friends are always there, good or bad.

    Yep, I agree.

I think there is a mix/balance that people need to find between online and real friends.
Too little online friends = boring times when you are online.
Too little normal friends = Just ---- in general, lonely, noone to go out with.. etc.

    If ya get me.
