    i've never used scan lines or white dots, so i'm struggling here, lol! I just put white dots on the entire sig. Now i want to have the white dots only on the top and bottom of the sig(but the length of the sig) so how do i cut out the white dots?? any help would be greatly appreciated, thnx! 1st preson to reply(correctly) gets +rep, and thnx again

    someone told me the rectangular marque tool, but after i release the mouse button, the selected area is circular not square, lol PLEASE HELP

    Use a new layer and do the scan lines or whatever. Use the square Marque tool (sp?) and cut out the bottom of the white in the entire sig until you get the amount you want on the top. Duplicate the layer and do the same on the bottom..

    For scan lines do the following:

    Make a new transparent image of dimensions 3px x 3px.
    Get out the pencil tool, set it to 1px black
    Zoom in to 1600x on the image
    Draw a line (3px) across the centre of the image
    Go to Edit-->Define Pattern and call it Scan Lines
    Go to the image you want to add scanlines to
    Go to (something like) Insert-->New Fill Layer-->Pattern-->"Scan Lines"
    Click Ok

    Voila :)

    Your problem with the rectangular marquee is that you proabaly have a feather on. Set the feather to 0, and then you should be fine.
