Ok, i normally use msn messenger 7 and it works perfectly.

I've tried 3 times on seperate occasions to try the latest one 7.5

It installs fine etc but when i try to sign in it always says

"the service is too busy, try again later"

Soon as i switch back to 7 it all works again.

Any idea what the problem is?

Don't think this has been posted before, i had a quick look.

    thanks for any help

Stay with 7.0 then. 7.5 will update itself when it HAS to.

What type of computer (eg 98 XP)? My friend had 98 and 7.5 never worked, he bought a new computer with windows XP and it worked fine.

it may just be a bug in the version. OR your pcs firewall is blocking it from connecting.

Try going to your control panel, then to add and remove programs and click on messenger and click remove, then it should take your to a screen that asks you if you would like to remove this program or repair it, click repair. This works for me sometimes.
