well recently all the time now half of my screen will disappear and at the bottom half there will be lines and different colors (that make u very disy) and and the top half it will look like regular but all dragged out and elongated im not sure what is going on might be the video card (6600 gt ) but im not sure cuz im thinkin it might be drivers not hardware earlier right before this post i was changing video settings and it did it but usually its just during surfing the web etc. It used to do it and i thought i was the ram so i replace it with a gig of pqi ddr2 best u can buy and it was running fast and never did it but now it started all of the sudden can someone please give some advice or direct me to someone that can ?

do you have an extra monitor? hook that up and see if the problem stays. If it is fixed, it's your monitor, if not, it is your card.

make sure the Monitor cable is plugged in correctly, take it out and reinsert it.

if another monitor doesn't help, try reseeding the card, take it out, and re-insert it.

if this doesn't help, do the above... <_<

I would do what he said and try another monitor, also check your pins on the monitor plug to make sure they are not bent, dirty, or corroded. I had a similar problem a while back and my monitor pins were old and starting nto corode.

    its either ur monitor
or it maybe the sli bridge.

im not sure but i think the 6600gt pci-e version can be used for a sli setup. is ur mobo an sli mobo. if so maybe u have to disable the sli bridge in ur cmos.

DDR>DDR2 in PCs, currently Intell processors can't handle more the 800fsb so all that extra clock is a waste and you get worse read/write/latency per clock on the ram.

For me it sounds like that the card has been overclocked and it is damaged from it.

Time to get a new monitor since they are not that costly.
