Buying an AlienWare is pointless. Your pretty much your paying a shit load if extra money just for the name of the brand of the PC.

Alienware computers are good, but too pricey, it's a lot cheaper just to buy the parts and put them together.

unless you buy the best alienware for over 5grand they are not worth the money. if you know alot about computers and are not scared to open up a computer and fittle than your fine. if youve ever installed a drive or a vid/sound card or ram then it wouldnt be that hard to build your own. so when it comes down to it either you build your own or just buy a dell.

edit :: by dell i mean buy a comp froma mainstream company

Don't but a Dell either. I just finished fixing someone's Dell computer. Just have someone build you a customized computer if you don't know how to build one. I would build one for you but shipping would be a killer.

Custom building is definately the way to go. This way, you will be able to choose the exact parts that you want and do not need the additives.

If I knew as much as I know now about computers; I would have picked a custom PC. My current computer is just a store special I guess.

The only "custom" thing I did to it so far is just add another hard drive.

But if you can tell crappy from good hardware, buy your own PC and customize it yourself. Just remember to get a big enough PSU. ;)

i say build your own, that way you know exactly what's going on inside, and you can choose the exact specs, not go with someone elses.
