Well, I just purchased my first ever widescreen monitor, (Lucky me.) but I am having some screen resolution problems. I have tried about every screen dimension but my monitor is still blurry. This problem even occurs while I'm playing games like counter strike. So what I am asking for you, is to help me figure out what I have to do to make my picture more clear or lead me to someone that can help.

I really appreciate you taking your time to read this. = )

BTW the monitor is by Chimei: CMV 221D (22")

Happened to me. I reinstalled my video card and it picked up the right resolutions.

It may be that you have a bad wire or one of your wire isn't plugged in right

Thanks a ton. Going to reinstall my video card right now.

Well I reinstalled my video card but no such luck.

I did realize that only in games that the monitor is blurry all over, but with my desktop there is just a small strip in the middle of the screen that is blurry.

I am more confused than ever so if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

try 1680 x 1050, that's the most common resolution for widescreen monitors.

also, FYI LCDs don't scale well at other resolutions, that's why it's blurry, LCDs are meant to run at their native resolution and running at a diferent one just changes the video input resolution and the monitor stretches it to it's resolution(hence the blurriness)

    Resolution

    1680 x 1050 / WSXGA+

thats the suggested one for your model. If you have a ATI graphics card, start uo the catalyst and search for the resolution, and change it there. I had the same problem
