I was thinking about getting that one because it is fairly cheap, and it seems good. Is that a good one? I am planning on using it to play 1.6 and some CZ in there, and i want to get at least 100 fps. Any suggestions for something around that price if this isnt good?

    Thanks

No matter what video card you get the rest of your sytsem is going to need to be up to par for any goal, if you have a chokepoint anywhere the whole system suffers... That's a good card I am just not familiar with the performance of cs 1.6...

    it's acceptable.

it uses DDR2 memory though which isn't that greatf for video cards due to its higher latency.

x800GTO performs a moderate amount better, but lacks pixel shader 3.0

for the price range, I'd personally get the x800GTO, or perhaps the x800XT if you can find it on sale. i you insist on pixel shader 3.0 support or need to run linux, the 7600 is the way to go.

CS 1.6 and CZ are VERY old HL1 engine games. I could run CS 1.6 on a store bought Dell. For 1.6 that's more than enough.

For source games you need better, maybe.

7600GS is fine for source games, it's overkill for HL1 based games...

a 30$ card maxes out 1.6 way easy, ask BTK, he has the economy price 6200 for 27$ it plays source games at an acceptable level, and should max out 1.6 in every aspect.

I could ply 1.6 at 45 fps on a store bought dell with no upgrade. with the 6200 its like over 100 easy. And i can play source games at 50fps+ while still looking good.
    I only have a 6200 pci card

    You'll be fine.
