I am having a problem with my mouse.I think it's an Optical HID-Compliant mouse. Anyways, here's my problem. When I am playing a game or just browsing the net, sometimes the pointer automaticly goes towards the top corner. This gets really annoting when I am playing UT2K4. Is there any way to fix this?

try cleaning the little lazer. like ball mice, optical mice get dirty too.

Here's another solution for your problem if the cleaning didn't help:

See the box by my cursor? The one that says "Automatically move pointer to the default button on a dialog box" was checked for me when I was having the same problems as you were! So after my friend told me to check there, my problem was fixed! (The Mouse Properties box can be acessed in the Control Panel!) Hope that helps if your problem isn't fixed! :D

that has little to do with it... why would it go to the top left of the screen? he says it happens when playing the game and theres no dialog box...

The problem was the hair. problem solved. move on...

You guys should really look into using felt on your table tops instead of mouse pads... the felt covers the whole table like a table cloth but provides the right amount of friction to make accurate control over your cursor movements :)

I did read your post... but he said he found hair around the lazer, and that was probably the problem.

Hey, Pat? did my suiggestion fix your problem? If so, MasterC's suggestion was wrong.
