I'm not the best with typography, I just feel its too pushed up in the corner and the type used doesn't fit the image/style. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

    hey man
hopefully not to late for your poster, I'd put the text at the bottom, there's no need for it to be in that corner, you got a nice spot of colour there anyway.
The illustrations are really wonderful, nice flow to them

Using a thinner font and change the way the date is shown, no need for the "th"
    i've done a simple example

So thinner font, no need for it to be coloured black will do, it needs to stand out from the poster a bit, and that doesnt always mean fat coloured letters
