Heh, I need help from my fellow Linux users. Should I stick with Gnome or go to a different one. I was thinking about KDE, but it has way to many packages :P

    Thx

EDIT: My Distro is Gentoo Linux

Kde isn't too hard to install actually... The compilation is f-ckin long though... IMO, Fluxbox rules :) I don't like gnome very much... I guess I should give gentoo a try... I like debian cuz it has apt-get :) Do Gentoo Have something similar? So, yeh, I'd go with fluxbox as a windows manager. You may also try xfce but it looks like crap.

Lynx is a software... It's a text-mode browser... I guess you were talking about Linux. Yeah, there are millions, if not billions of softwares for it, but there's no "Superior" or "best" software, same thing for windows or any other OS.

    Linux for ever!

Gentoo is ok, only latley the community has gone really down. Lots of newbies... I mean not the average one that asks a intellegent question ... but those who just ask to get posts or attention.

I like Gnome, but on my 8 year old computer both KDE and Gnome take a way long time to emerge. Heh, firefox itselft takes more then a day :P

The main distros you hear a lot about is, Gentoo, RedHat, Debian, Slackware and .... i know i am forgetting one ....
