Im going to be making a new computer.. a ultimate gameing computer. ( or close to it ) anyways, my budget is 750 dollars USD, and this is what i want. 3.5 Ghz system 2 Gbs of ram 250 - 500 Gb HDD AMD 64 Xp prossesor ( a good one, at good price ) graphics card video card sound card ( ill settle with intigrated for this ) good mother board dvd burner drive ( prefurably black ) a nice gameing case thanks guys, just post a good setup that will fit my budget.. and if i forgot anything, just tell me -Justan
you'd need a power supply most cases come with them, tho... umm, do you live in the us? and, is newegg ok for you? I'll go on a hunt, suspecting that you say yes to the two questions. edit: I see you live in Canada, ok...
There is no 3.5 ghz system...unless you get Intel which is a bad idea. video & graphics card are the same thing Is the monitor part of the $700 budget? cuz those run at about 200 bucks..
umm, what you want, it will be way over 700.... I can cut that down to 1gig of ram, regular AMD 64, and so on... edit: diablo, if you can post down your computer that u bought, and find a place that ships to canada, I think that'll do nicely for him...
I would..Of course, my computer is 900 bucks, without a monitor, HD, or soundcard. still want me to anyway?..for referance or something... btw you wont need liquid cooling. and for canada it would probly cost more. Does TD go canada?
they have a site for canada @ www.tigerdirect.ca but what he was looking for is alot more than 700, if thats in canada money...
Oh.. Well not really.. 700.00 USD = 802.821 CAD 1 USD = 1.14689 CAD 1 CAD = 0.871926 USD I'd still be up by 100..
the gfx card is the last thing i worry about. you need a full computer before you mess with the gfx card... the amount of money he has left will decide that...
Considering how much gear you want that amound of money wont suffice like a half decent rig in australia costs about $1200 AUSD. The case is the least of your worries, there is no such thing as a AMD 64 XP its just AMD Athlon 64... You might want to buy AMD as your CPU because it's wallet friendly and provides more bang for buck, the motherboard Im not too sure about but you'll need one with onboard sound, you'll need a PCI-E graphics card if you on a tight budget opt for a 6600GT or if your willing to invest more go with 6800GS or 6800GT they both offer excellent performance and you dont have to sell your kidneys for them. In australia 500Gig hard drives cost around the $500 AUSD mark, my father always told me that the bigger your hard drive the more mess you get, so Id say you should get a 300Gig hard drive or get two 250Gig hard drives and make them into a RAID or mount them seperately. Most good gaming cases cost over $100AUSD and they tend to not come with a power suppy, gaming cases should have haddles on them or you can add them yourself. I recommend you get a 500watt Power supply that should provide lots of power to you PC and should provide for any future upgrades. DVD burners are dirt cheap these days but I recommend you get the latest LG burner. If you want a mouse go logitech, I recommend you get a microsoft keyboard but really it comes down to personal preference. Duel core and watercooling comes at a huge premium so dont buy, air cooling is good enough for your system, duel core is still in its infency so I'd say leave duel core tech to mature for a year or two so that they can iron out most of the bugs. Water Cooling is not worh it because your not going to do insane overclocking.
Dual cores are fine dude^ they are being used more efficently now in the games as they will in the future. Well this is my config for 900USD AMD 3800+ x2 Asus A8N-E 1gb corsair mem connect3d x800gto FSP Group 450 watt psu (i reccomend the epower puma II) NEC ND-3550 dvd drive XION II case and dude, watt isnt what matters in psu's overall...so give him something more specific next time.^ and he wont need to spend 100 bucks on a case.
Here you go get this - amd 64 939 3200+ ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 6600GT 1gb OCZ Value RAM (2x512mb) 120gb Western Digital SATA HD (120gb is plenty trust me) Benq DW1640 DVD Burner Antec Smartpower II 480W Antec SuperLanParty Logitech MX518 You can figure out the rest, your monitor and keyboard. That above should come to around $600 so I doubt you can fit in an LCD monitor.
With 700 bucks you won't get 2GB ram and a monitor. that costs together already at least 400 bucks. A good GFX card (graphics and video card are the same) at least 200 bucks. You should go for 900 bucks at least! with a P4 2.8 Ghz, 1 GB ram, a ati radeon x700 gfx card and a 15 or 17 inch monitor you can do a lot. Just check out some sites. Or visit a shop, sometimes they've got cheap things in sale. What do you want to use your PC for? Gaming needs other things than for 3d moddeling for example.
This setting works very nice. I build this setting almost each week on my work. And they never come back
Yup, what Defuzion posted is a great budget build. I have the same video card, and the PSU is great. I would want a more powerful CPU, but that's not easy with a $700 CAD budget.
