lol I use to be on here under the name "Fus1on" back in 2005 and I remember this place was unreal busy. Cant find my password for my account but whatever. Is this place not as busy anymore? Can anyone recommend some websites? Looking to get more so on the website design. Thanks in advance
It's still here though as a museum of fine art of sorts. To be fair, I think it's really down to the change in dynamic of the internet as a whole. Social media swept in and GR just couldn't compete with the change in trends! Is there any similar forums still in existence that are thriving!? And I think it's beyond the point of advertising at this stage as it's not likely to have an effect? It seems GR had a little niche for itself, that just got old and depressing quickly! I dunno, I'm hungover as **** and waffling on..
I personally believe that the staff didn't respect the community enough. There was a rapid decline following shenanigans with the credit steal item(I'll admit that I bounced the idea but I didn't foresee the item being made as potent as it was) that was NOT handled as well as it could have been. This was a major shock to the eco-system and people lost faith in the reliability of the currency AND in its leaders. I apologize.
i just posted something similar in General Discussion.. i remeber I could log in any day and there be LOADS of users online, i just have no clue what happened! i was never involved with huge issues on GR, as i felt my voice wasnt ever heard, so i didnt know about the sale of the site to Shaggy or the credit steal item. I also was away for a while too. as there are no longer any real usage on here, why dont the remaining . "GR Veterans" get together and make thier own site?? I will be honest.. I cant code for shit, im just throwing an idea out there.. or maybe a FB group, theres got to be a way we can keep our little site.. and still be able to keep up with the trends of the internet This place has become a digital version of the wasteland from fallout: Barely any people barely anything works everything is a fucking mess. we shouldnt let the small community that we do have left, die off because of the mistakes of the past. Also, i miss the Master Chief log in screen
still, im debating setting up a FB group for those who remain, like me, you and a few others to share stuff between us... sound like a plan?
It's definitely something I think about from time to time. Mostly as a lesson learned. People want to feel that their leaders value them, that they are on their side - even in cases where tough choices need to be made. This is especially the case where those leading lack formal authority.
What the **** is up you guys. Nice to see madmav and xlink still here. Edit: Holy shit, I joined here over ten years ago. What are y'all up to these days?
