So you are looking for everything but a monitor? what about keyboard and mouse? How much will you spend? are you from US? if not where? just lookin for details.. btw, go for AMD not Intel. and 2.5 amd is way higher than 3.0 intel so you know. they run different..
take the 64bits amd and a good mobo aswell btw that 153 bucks for a 512 card? take a look at www.tomshardware.com alot of benchmarks can be found there
a 2.5GHz athlon 64 is like a 4Ghz P4 when it comes to gaming. Also, they don't make 2.5Ghz varieties. Corsair makes fairly good ram, but they are not the best, especially for the price. 250GB hardrive is nice, but you might have to give up some performance for it because most large HDDs are relatively slow. 512mb of Vram is pointless, by the time games need that much, the GPU won't be able to handle it and you would need a new card. here is my suggested basic set up for you: CPU 1st choice: AMD Opertron 165(2*1.8Ghz) OC it to 2.4-2.8Ghz for inase performance/price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103588 2nd choice: athlon X2 3800+(2*2.0Ghz) (could probably OC it to 2.3-2.6 for insane performance/price) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103562 Ram: 1st choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231047 2nd(based on your prefrence, no real performance increase to justify the cost): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145575 Hardrive: 1st choice(based on your preference, there are better, but you wanted capacity):http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822145087 GFX card: 1st choice: X1900 pretty much any of these since they are currently the most powerful card on the market http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....rchInDesc=x1900 2nd choice: X1800XL http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814161148 3rd choice:7800GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....ATTR17=&ATTR18= yeah I went high end, but you didn't really specify much. again, you will nto notice any real performance increase for having more vRam, maybe like .1%
You don't need to buy Professional as you can upgrade to SP2 by DLing it and then it will just be Windows XP not Home or Prof. I think that's right.
No there is still a difference. But if you dont use all the extra networking features then dont bother with pro and get home.
